1. Fake

By William Fuller and Spencer Kimball

MP3 Audio File

Last night you said I was lazy
In the moment after a pause
I took a breath in that little break.
I felt a chill for this awful year
I saw you floating through a tear
I said at least I'm not a fake

You looked out the window and smiled
Or you looked out the window and cried
It was just like that day by the lake.
Holding each other like we couldn't let go
But you said you didn't remember
I said at least I'm not a fake

The fire that always surrounds you
So bright, so loud and so hot
I thought I took all I could take.
You left that night in silence
You walked away without any fear
I said at least I'm not a fake
Sitting alone, I said at least I'm not a fake

02. Plastic Surgery

By Jack Hastings and Gary Sears

MP3 Audio File

Cut me apart, stitch me back together
Shape me, make me, better than ever
I want a new face, a new butt, a new shape
I want a new life whatever it takes

I wanna be shiny, I wanna be smooth
Plastic, elastic, with a million views
I don't wanna look basic, I don't wanna look poor
I don't wanna look anything like the girl next door

Hey, Dr. Giggles
Even though it tickles
Tease me with your silver knives
Fashion is so fickle
I don't mind the pain or scars
As long as you can make me look like superstar

I know the real me is underneath the outside
Peel me, feel me, take me for a ride
Smooth as a peach, shiny as a pear
Sand me, tan me, just don't mess my hair

Hey, Dr. Giggles
Even though it tickles
Tease me with your silver knives
Fashion is so fickle
I don't mind the pain or scars
As long as you can make me look like superstar

At my first opportunity
I'll go to the infirmary
To get that plastic surgery that makes me real
I will be so luminous
Radiant and ludicrous
Viral and unscrupulous, I wanna know how that feels

I know the real me is underneath the outside
Peel me, feel me, take me for a ride
Smooth as a peach, shiny as a pear
Sand me, tan me, just don't mess my hair

03. Facefull of Fury

By Spencer Kimball

MP3 Audio File

My face is not my own
But I have time for my anger
And though my cover is blown
I'll be a full-blown head banger

Chorus:
I can be a face full of fury
I can be the man who assures he
Would be seething with rage
As he's kicking his cage

Progressive implantation
Harvesting fat mines
Optimistic augmentation
Degenerative signs

Chorus

Lip slip
Cheek streak
Chin spin
Lid grid
I think it's time I broke up with myself

(Kicking his cage, kicking his cage...)

04. The Last Time I Saw My Face

by William Fuller and Gary Sears

MP3 Audio File

They were no longer my eyes
Nothing was wrong with the mirror
I looked with some shock and surprise
And at least a couple of tears
Corrosion, decimation
Your leaving had filled me with fear
Things had started to change
At least that much was clear

It was no longer my nose
I thought I had to escape
You left me one beautiful rose
Pinned to the top of the drape
One day you were just gone
I'm not even sure why
I spent that last day at the harbor
Being blown by the wind through the sky

They were no longer my cheeks
When they melted into something new
I was finally disappeared
There was nothing else left to do
A snip and tug over here
A stretch and pull just in case
My mind lost and fading away
The last time I saw my face

05. Fat Lips

By Gary Sears and Spencer Kimball

MP3 Audio File

intro:
She had a mask to the world, with only one thing you could recognize

Which one are you talking about, said one girl touching every bottle she sees
Oh, you know, said another, the Jackson face on a Cardi B
Oh, right, the one who talks about what she's having done next on her list
You got it, but really she's the one with the…

She better not look at a yearbook, and she better not go home
She gotta adjust those hormones
She gotta not be alone

She's a Barbie made of different parts
Put there by strangers in a shopping cart
But you'll always know her even out on a trip
She'll be the one with the…

Which one are you talking about…?
Oh, you know...
Oh, right!...

06. The Wrinkles

By William Fuller and Spencer Kimball

MP3 Audio File

Puttin' heat on the wrinkles
Puttin' fear down the hole
Putin howlin' bloody hell
Sippin' vodka from his bowl
While me and my friends
Are sortin' problems out
Gonna put down the putsch
With a scream and a shout

Chorus:
Gonna iron out the wrinkles
Make the problem go away
Thought we were on the brink
Of a better, kinder day
Time to turn up the heat
Pass the poteen
Gonna iron out the wrinkles
Turn up the steam

Sittin' ridin' shotgun
On the road to fare thee well
Gonna make 'em wish they'd never
Heard that big black bell
It's tollin' for their lies
And their money grubbin' cash
Rippin' out their eyes
Spittin' on their trash

Chorus

Even more elevens
While the billionaires laugh
The country shows its age
Goin' down in ash
A nation full of wrinkles
Ain't too proud to beg
We gave up our freedom
For the price of an egg

Chorus

07. I'm In With The Skin Crowd

By William Fuller and Gary Sears

MP3 Audio File

She let her age naturally rise
Across her skin like the sun
But were her lips good enough?
Was her tummy flat enough?
Was the smile worth the effort?
Was she really that tough?
She's in with the skin crowd
And the light shines on

He sees the drooping in his eyes
It's a fools game this time
He's the court jester
Feels the weight of his thighs
Rubs the wattle round his neck
And begins to realize
He's in with the skin crowd
And the light shines on

Is my love too selfish?
Maybe I can change it
Is my mind too wild?
Maybe I can tame it
Is my heart big enough?
Maybe I can enlarge it
Is my soul losing steam?
Maybe I can recharge it.
I'm in with the skin crowd
And the light shines on

08. Nose Job

by Jack Hastings and Spencer Kimball

MP3 Audio File

It's been coming a long time
Seeping across the land
The stench of sulfur and brimstone
The touch of the Devil's hand
Oh, how it bites and stings
As the evil smokes and burns
I can't stand this stink no more
And I don't know where to turn

There's a smell comin' cross the river
From a house as white as a whore
From a man with a mixed up monkey mug
And skin like a rotten orange
No perfume can mask it
Or make it go away
Gonna have to get me a nose job
And they're gonna have to pay

Chorus
I can't stand the stink no more
Got to get it out of my nose
Gonna cut it off to spite my face
That's the way this story goes

I've smelled bad and I've smelled worse
But this is beyond the pale
It's an acrid stench that burns your soul
Like fire from the pits of Hell

Bridge
Gotta get a nose job (nose job)
Just scrape it off of my face
Give me a nose job (nose job)
To take that reek away

I have tried the clothespin
Candles, incense too
But that aroma of corruption
Just keeps on seeping through

And it smells like a sorrow
It smells like despair
Gonna have to get me a nose job
If we can't clear the air

09. Patching

by Spencer Kimball and Gary Sears

MP3 Audio File

Take a scope - fill a hole
Pedicle - dermis found
Keep it smooth - make it long
Adipose - moving round

Patching in some room, brighter room
Cutting, patching
Patching in some room, brighter room
Cutting, patching, patching soon

Botox done - whistle gone
Surgeon stands - table steel
Flap around - move the skin
Cut the edge - patch the peel

Patching in some room, brighter room
Cutting, patching
Patching in some room, brighter room
Cutting, patching, patching soon

... In some room
Slide the door
Leave the room

Make a visit - see your face
Schedule cutting - wonder long
No other time - to make the change
Put the gown on - live the wrong

Patching in some room, brighter room
Cutting, patching
Patching in some room, brighter room
Cutting, patching, patching soon

10. Puttin' My Fear To Rest

by William Fuller and Gary Sears

MP3 Audio File

Oh I was lost and frightened
Like a scared little child
Then on the horizon
Something steady but wild
Something filled with mercy
Could I pass the test?
I'm gonna shed this skin
Puttin' fear to rest, I'm puttin' my fear to rest

Been sliced and diced
One too many times
Been hiding in the shadow
At the end of the line
Been told my soul was weak
I'll never be the best
Time for me to go home
Puttin' fear to rest, I'm puttin' my fear to rest

Gonna turn that fear
Into a little golf ball
On God's green turf
I'll be standing tall
Gonna wash in the water
From that sacred well
Puttin' that fearful ball
Down the hole to hell, my fear's goin' straight to hell

I was lost and frightened
Like a scared little child
Then on the horizon
Something steady but wild
Something filled with mercy
Could I pass the test?
I'm gonna shed this skin
Puttin' fear to rest, I'm putting my fear to rest

11. Playing A Part

by Gary Sears and Spencer Kimball

MP3 Audio File

I feel fine, really really fine
It's not what it looks like, you see
My body is really really mine
What it feels like is really really free
To be who I am
To be energized and -

Chorus:
Playing a part
Ready to be playing a part
Just playing in the lights, in the company
Being something we want to see

I'm all done, really really done
It was a hard road, I'll tell you
That old one is really really gone
And better than ever too
To be who I am
A celebrity now, yeah -

Chorus

I want more, really really more
When you know what more feels like
But anyway I know what I'm working for
I might as well be getting back on the bike
To be who I am
To be this brand, online...

Chorus

12. Scalpel

by Jack Hastings and Spencer Kimball

MP3 Audio File

That night in the room
When you kissed me
And whispered goodbye
From the door
I wanted to stop you
But could not
I could not rise up
From the floor

You were always so wicked
My darling
Too chic to just
Break my heart
Silver and sleek
Like a scalpel
You cut quick
And took me apart

Chorus
I felt nothing when you struck
Such a quick and quiet cut
By the time I saw the blood
You were out and gone for good
Now I’m nothing without the pain
Empty streets and silent rain
And the hurt is sinking in
Will you cut me once again?

I thought we were laughing
Together
You were just laughing
At me
The shiny eyes of your friends
With their lies
Delighted you
Endlessly

Oh how my blood burned
Within me
When I realized I’d just
Played the fool
But I will, with grace,
Surrender
I leave it to you
to be cruel

Chorus

13. The Mirror Cracked

by Jack Hastings and Gary Sears

MP3 Audio File

I wish I had a girlfriend or a boyfriend
Any old friend will do
But it's just me and the me in the mirror
And the me in the mirror is a fool

Me and my shadow, what a laugh now
If it was only easy as that
I made a connection with my reflection
I think they're a psychopath

I don't like me looking at you
A mime in the mirror just stealing my moves
You never let me see me
The way I wanna be me
Mirror mirror just tell me true
Why do I feel so blue

Walking down the street now,
Everything's a screen now
I don't wanna look twee
I try to look like everybody else
Until the world is a mirror of me

I don't like me looking at you
A mime in the mirror just stealing my moves
You never let me see me
The way I wanna be me
Mirror mirror just tell me true
Why do I feel so blue

Seven years of bad luck
I didn't mean to bust it up
Now its only pieces of me
Now I'm alone again
On my own again
Until the next mirror I see

I wish I had a girlfriend or a boyfriend
Any old friend will do
But it's just me and the me in the mirror
And the me in the mirror is a fool

14. Restoration

by William Fuller and Jack Hastings

MP3 Audio File

I lived with your restoration
For too damn many years
You always seemed so busy
Try’n to plaster over your fears

There’s always room for improvement
For a house or a yard or a face
You were more like a twister or whirlwind
Or a devil falling from grace

Chorus:
Come down from your ladder and sit
No need for these hours to fill
Busy days of endless work
When it should be quiet and still

I watched you work your restoration
And my mind would tremble and shake
You were filled with purpose and frenzy
As my soul would stumble and ache

You told me I needed to help
It was hard to understand
Then I broke and decided to stir
And give you a helping hand

Chorus

Guess there’s no more dry wall to fix
I hope you like those new clothes
Your crooked eyebrow is nearly straight
You couldn’t ask for a better nose

We sit together hand in hand
Your face it looks so sweet
My love is lath and plaster
The restoration is now complete

Chorus

15. I Think You Would Like To Be Here

by William Fuller and Jack Hastings

MP3 Audio File

Gazing out the window
A hole in the sky
A squirrel on the fence
The look in my eyes
A shelf full of secrets
A letter from the past
An extraordinary problem
The question you asked

Chorus:
The beautiful transformation
That last ride in the car
I think you would like to be here
Instead of wherever you are
Wherever you are

Life is such a dream
Sleep and then you wake up
If your night left you scared
Put on some extra makeup
Wipe the sand from your eyes
Stretch your face and your skin
Change your hair, change your love
Change everything that you've been

Chorus

16. New Thing

by Spencer Kimball and Jack Hastings

MP3 Audio Pending

She may be weary
Girls they do get weary
Trading their love for some bling
But since she’s weary
Oh, so very weary
Time to try a brand new thing

The nose is smallish
The butt could be more ballish
The boob have a little more spring
The doctor is waiting
He’ll make you devastating
You can be a brand new thing

Chorus:
Let’s have a hand for that new you
And maybe we’ll all do it too
There’s really no need to be blue
Cause you’ll be a brand new thing

Bridge:
You can be a new Rodin
Removing whatever’s not part of your body plan
You are the art in your museum
Your friends all want to see ‘em
On the way to your brand new thing

So when you get teary
Face up to your fears
And prepare for the knife’s sweet sting
When the tenderness leaves you
If the surgery bleeds you
Everybody still needs to...
Be a brand new thing

Chorus

Imagine the the gleam of the scalpel, under the blinding lights of the OR. Sliding softly into the skin. A fine red line from which the red blood wells. As the incision parts, slimy innards are revealed. The tube goes in and the vacuum whirrs as the greasy yellow fat slides down the tube, out of the body and into the cannister of bio waste. I wonder what it smells like, tastes like? Or maybe it's the backroom of a bodega in the South Bronx with a lawnmower engine and someone who watched a few Youtube videos.

There are stories to be told about self-loathing; transformation; addiction to the point of grotesquerie; patriarchal body images; the illusion and madness of social media glamour; the disillusionment when it makes no difference; the disasters; the strange technology; the surgeons and the frauds; the poison used to freeze out wrinkles. We could go on but we probably shouldn't.
